With thousands of lift kits sold over the past several years and millions and millions of miles of testing without any issues arising from those that do experience passenger side axle contact when the wheels are off the ground, we are VERY HESITANT to try and \\\u0026quot;fix a problem\\\u0026quot; that has yet to cause an actual problem, in fear of creating an ACTUAL problem. Yes, some Prii do in fact experience passenger side axle contact after lifted above 1\\\u0026quot;. In fact one of our company GEN 3 Prii has had this for the past 235k miles of lifted abuse and has presented ZERO issues from it. Fortunately for those that do experience this, the contact only happens far and few between when the wheels are off the ground or at full droop (ie: jumping your car, going over a large speed bump at high speed, extreme suspension articulation, during vehicle maintenance with the car up on jack stands, etc.). Another good thing is that the axle is a solid piece of hardened round steel without any sharp edges, and the third being that with only 1.5\\\u0026quot; of lift the axle just barely contacts the subframe enough to kiss the paint off. NOTE: Keep in mind that if you install a lift larger than 1.5\\\u0026quot; the force of contact on this increases dramatically and these spacers are only designed to work with a lift height of 1.5\\\u0026quot; or less. The product was met with mixed reviews, however the concept was sound. (You can learn more about that concept HERE.) By taking this same concept and increasing the thickness of the spacers you are able to in-turn lower the subframe. This inevitably moves the subframe down and allows for more cv-axle clearance for those that experience axle contact after installing a lift. Personally, we feel this is counterintuitive since your subframe is now almost .5\\\u0026quot; lower meaning you have that much less ground clearance than you would with the lift without the subframe spacers. Other companies have copied Spoon Sports concept but failed pathetically by charging upwards of $300 for spacers that not only are incredibly difficult to install, but don't even solve the axle contact issue at hand. So after months of listening to one loud individual repeatedly try to make a mountain out of a mole hill, we decided to take a shovel to the mole and solve his problem ourselves. With this in mind, we don't plan on running these spacers on any of our shop vehicles aside from the one test mule in order to see what problems arise from them, but if you're one of the people concerned about your passenger side axle contact, here is a viable solution that not only WORKS, but is in stock, is ridiculously easy to install in less than 30 minutes, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
